Danielle Henry -NASM CPT, 200 HR Yoga Teacher
Certified Personal Trainer, Manager
Danielle was born in Boise, Idaho. She attended Lewis-Clark State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology: Exercise Science. Throughout college she worked as a manager and personal trainer at a small local gym near the campus. She also spent 6 years in the Army Reserve where she learned the importance of leadership, discipline and community. After college she traveled to Bali, Indonesia for a month-long training in the art of teaching yoga. She is currently studying for her Master’s in Public Health and looking forward to graduating in May 2020.
Danielle is passionate about working with older adults to improve their balance, strength, range of motion and quality of life. She believes that fitness goals should be focused on living a healthy lifestyle rather than solely aesthetic based. Danielle loves working in the APSI office Monday-Friday but she is most excited when a member asks her for help making an action plan or assistance with movements on the gym floor.
When Danielle is not in the gym, she enjoys spending time with her family and two cats. She loves to challenge herself with new activities and participate in volunteer opportunities.
Darryl Nelson- Strength and Conditioning Coach
Darryl is originally from Buxton, Maine. He attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. He earned a Master's degree at the University of Georgia while working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Bulldog's intercollegiate athletic program. Darryl is also certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
In addition, Darryl has worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Mike Boyle's Strength and Conditioning in Woburn, Massachusetts and IMG Academie's International Performance Institute in Bradenton, Florida. Before joining APSI he worked for 19 seasons with Olympic and professional development as the head strength and conditioning coach for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in Plymouth, Michigan.
Apart from training, Darryl is also passionate about outdoor pursuits such as hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking.
